One week, one picture, one paragraph, one sentence, one word, and one letter at a time, brought me to today—my 100th blog post. While I truly can’t believe I’ve hit publish that many times, it’s such a helpful reminder that, in other areas of my life, things are culminating whether I can see them or not.

My close friend Rachel Joffe, who is a therapist on Long Island, gives her clients a special gift. She gives them a jar and a bag of marbles. The invitation is to drop a marble in the jar when they overcome a small or large challenge in their day. She goes on to explain, “This is a way of acknowledging the mini steps it takes to achieve the results we seek.” The Rikki Rogers quote on the top of the jar reads, Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from OVERCOMING the things you once thought you couldn’t.

One hundred feels like a lot of something, but it pales in comparison to the things I do 1,000’s of times that I never pay much attention to. After a long winter, Good Friday feels like an ideal time to reflect on the stuff I get right over and over again. Like, how awesome I am at giving my kids consequences—I nail it almost every single time. I’m totally gonna need a bigger jar.
